Stand-in skipper Damien Stewart wants Pahang to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday.
Having secured a 4-3 win against Police on matchday one, Stewart wants a double over the Cops to put the Elephants on course for the last eight.
Defending champions Pahang were humbled 4-1 by Penang in Georgetown last week.
“I hope we don’t lose focus. I believe all of us want to book a spot in quarters early,” the centreback told Harian Metro.
“We also want to redeem ourselves after the Penang match. Three points will do a great deal.
“It will not only improve morale but also strengten our place at the top of Group D. We dont want to leave it till late.”
Pahang play PKNS in the final match on Oct 17. The Malaysia Cup takes a break after Saturday as the International football takes place. Pahang’s Azamuddin Akil, Khairul Azhan Khalid, Matthew Davies and Hafiz Kamal are in the national team.
