Central midfielder Hafiz Kamal believes Pahang are ready to lift the Malaysia Cup for the second time running.
The Elephants, 2013 FA Cup winners, meet Super League title holders Johor Darul Takzim in a fitting finale in the Malaysia Cup at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.
The 27-year-old believes the 5-0 win over Kedah in the semifinal second leg provided the team a much needed boost and now they are ready for the final.
“Personally, I am confident we will emerge Malaysia Cup winners again,” said Hafiz.
“I don’t know if I will start or not… but I want to if given the chance. Anyhow I will fight till the end to ensure Pahang wins. It is for my personal satisfaction also.
“We have played JDT before it has always been close. The key will be not giving much room to them and make the most of chances we have.”
Hafiz did not start in the 5-0 win as Azidan Sarudin and Faizol Hussain were given the nod.
Meanwhile, Pahang have been training at the Temerloh Stadium for the final as it allows the players to train without much distractions.
A similar move was taken before the FA Cup final, which Pahang edged Felda United 2-1 in June.
