Pahang got their act in the second half and took only three minutes to open the scoring as the Elephants defeated MISC-MIFA 2-1 at the Darul Makmur Stadium.
The results set Pahang up for a FA Cup quarterfinal tie against Penang next month.
Pahang failed to find the back of the net against third tier MISC-MIFA in the first half.
The Elephants who have yet to get their goalscoring boots polished this season, had numerous chances but could not hit the target.
The likes of Nor Azam Azih, Dickson Nwakaeme, Azidan Sarudin all saw their chances miss the mark and Pahang looked for comfort in the tie.
The visitors also had their chances but none really threatened Zainal Abidin Hassan.
Speedy winger R. Gopinathan applied the finish after Nwakaeme dribbled past a few players in the 48th minute.
Nwakaeme again provided as Fauzi Roslan ensured the win in the 58th minute. Harivarman pulled one back in the 90th minute but it was a little to late.
