Pahang out to cage the Lions

Pahang are out to set the record straight against LionsXII in the Malaysia Cup tomorrow. The last time the Elephants travelled to the Jalan Besar Stadium they suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat.

Coach Zainal Abidin Hassan believed the team was in  perfect condition to return with three points, though even one point would be commendable.
“We are the defending champions and when teams play us, they lift their game…. I’m expecting LionsXII to do the same despite their poor form of late,” said Zainal.

“We want to make amends for losing heavily in the league. This is the best time to rise to the occasion on as we are high in spirits.

“Another win will put us in a good position for the knockout stages. Worst case scenario we need at least a point from Singapore,” said Zainal. Pahang defeated Johor Darul Takzim II 4-0 in the group opener last week while LionsXII drew 0-0 with FA Cup runners up Felda United.
