Seal the top spot, no slacking

Pahang coach Zainal Abidin has his eyes on the 5top spot of Group D when they play their final group match against Penang in Kuantan on Wednesday.

Revenge will also be on the Elephants’ mind after suffering a 4-1 humiliation in the reverse fixture.

“We have qualified but that is not enough. We can’t take our foot off the pedal,” said Zainal.

“There are many reasons why we need another win. Firstly, to get top place in the group. We haven’t done so well and its best we keep our momentum going with another win.

“Also, the loss in Georgetown was painful. We have a score to settle,” he said.

Pahang lead Group D on nine points, one more than PKNS. Third-placed Penang and PDRM have five points each.
