Two FA Cup matches will be played earlier

LionsXII vs Pahang and JDT vs T-Team FA Cup ties has been move forward to 1st of February due to Singapore’s involvment in Asia Cup Qualification


The head of Local Tournament Committee of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, has confirmed that only two from eight matches of second round of FA Cup will be played on the 1stof February, while the other 6 matches remain on the 4th of February.

The two matches that will be forward are between Lions XII and Pahang and Johor Darul Ta’zim and T-Team.

According to Utusan, Shazli said “Not all, only two matches because it involves the venue as Singapore will play Jordan at Jalan Besar Stadium, and secondly because two JDT import players are involved in that match (Harriss Harun and Baihakki Khaizan).”  Shazli also confirmed that the other six matches will be played as scheduled.

Shazli also indicated that Selangor will continue to play evening matches while Shah Alam Stadium is still undergoing renovation work, the upgrading work of the spotlights in MBPJ Stadium is only expected to be completed in April.

JDT will play in their first FA Cup game this season after receiving a bye in the first round together with Kelantan, who will face Sabah in the second round.
